【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforacousticemission(AE)testingofinsulateddiggerderricks.EquipmentCovered-Thistestmethodappliestospecialmultipurposevehicle-mountedmachines,commonlyknownasdiggerderricks.Thesemachinesareprimarilydesignedtodigholes,setpoles,andpositionmaterialsandapparatus.Insulatedtypediggerderricksmaybeevaluatedwiththistestmethod.Diggerderricks,ifsoequippedtopositionpersonnelorequipment,orboth,mayalsobeevaluatedwiththistestmethodinconjunctionwithTestMethodF914.EquipmentNotCovered-Excludedfromthistestmethodaregeneral-purposecranesdesignedonlyforliftingserviceandmachinesprimarilydesignedonlyfordiggingholes.TheAEtestmethodisusedtodetectandarea-locateemissionsources.Verificationofemissionsourcesmayrequiretheuseofothernondestructivetest(NDT)methods,suchasradiography,ultrasonic,magneticparticle,liquidpenetrant,andvisualinspection.Precaution-Thistestmethodrequiresthatexternalloadsbeappliedtothesuperstructureofthevehicleundertest.Duringthetest,cautionmustbetakentosafeguardpersonnelandequipmentagainstunexpectedfailureorinstabilityofthevehicleorcomponents.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
