【摘要】:Thismicrovacuumsamplingandindirectanalysismethodisusedforthegeneraltestingofnon-airbornedustsamplesforasbestos.Itisusedtoassistintheevaluationofdustthatmaybefoundonsurfacesinbuildingssuchasceilingtiles,shelving,electricalcomponents,ductwork,carpet,etc.ThistestmethodprovidesanindexofthesurfaceloadingofasbestosstructuresinthedustperunitareaanalyzedasderivedfromaquantitativeTEManalysis.5.1.1Thistestmethoddoesnotdescribeproceduresortechniquesrequiredtoevaluatethesafetyorhabitabilityofbuildingswithasbestos-containingmaterials,orcompliancewithfederal,state,orlocalregulationsorstatutes.Itistheuser’responsibilitytomakethesedeterminations.5.1.2Atpresent,norelationshiphasbeenestablishedbetweenasbestos-containingdustasmeasuredbythistestmethodandpotentialhumanexposuretoairborneasbestos.Accordingly,theusersshouldconsiderotheravailableinformationintheirinterpretationofthedataobtainedfromthistestmethod.Thisdefinitionofdustacceptsallparticlessmallenoughtopassthrougha1mm(No.18)screen.Thus,asingle,largeasbestoscontainingparticle(s)(fromthelargeendoftheparticlesizedistribution)dispersedduringsamplepreparationmayresultinanomalouslylargeasbestossurfaceloadingresultsintheTEManalysesofthatsample.Itis,therefore,recommendedthatmultipleindependentsamplesaresecuredfromthesamearea,andthataminimumofthreesamplesbeanalyzedbytheentireprocedure.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureto(a)identifyasbestosindustand(b)provideanestimateofthesurfaceloadingofasbestosinthesampleddustreportedasthenumberofasbestosstructuresperunitareaofsampledsurface.1.1.1Ifanestimateoftheasbestosmassistobedetermined,theuserisreferredtoTestMethodD5756.1.2Thistestmethoddescribestheequipmentandproceduresnecessaryforsampling,byamicrovacuumtechnique,non-airbornedustforlevelsofasbestosstructures.Thenon-airbornesampleiscollectedinsideastandardfiltermembranecassettefromthesamplingofasurfaceareafordustwhichmaycontainasbestos.1.2.1Thisprocedureusesamicrovacuumingsamplingtechnique.Thecollectionefficiencyofthistechniqueisunknownandwillvaryamongsubstrates.Propertiesinfluencingcollectionefficiencyincludesurfacetexture,adhesiveness,electrostaticpropertiesandotherfactors.1.3Asbestosidentifiedbytransmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM)isbasedonmorphology,selectedareaelectrondiffraction(SAED),andenergydispersiveX-rayanalysis(EDXA).Someinformationaboutstructuresizeisalsodetermined.1.4Thistestmethodisgenerallyapplicableforanestimateofthesurfaceloadingofasbestosstructuresstartingfromapproximately1000asbestosstructurespersquarecentimetre.1.4.1Theprocedureoutlinedinthistestmethodemploysanindirectsamplepreparationtechnique.Itisintendedtodisperseaggregatedasbestosintofundamentalfibrils,fiberbundles,clusters,ormatricesthatcanbemoreaccuratelyquantifiedbytransmissionelectronmicroscopy.However,aswithallindirectsamplepreparationtechniques,theasbestosobservedforquantificationmaynotrepresentthephysicalformoftheasbestosassampled.Morespecifically,theproceduredescribedneithercreatesnordestroysasbestos,butitmayalterthephysicalformofthemineralfibers.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishapp......
