【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardspecifiesrequirementsforthetransport,layingandcompactionofasphaltmixturesconformingtoBSEN13108?1,BSEN13108?4andBSEN13108?5,anddescribedinPD6691,fromthetimethattheyleavethemixingplantuntiltheyareplacedontheroadreadytoreceiveasuperimposedlayerortraffic.Italsoincludesrequirementsforpreliminaryworkatthelayingsiteneededtoensurethatthesubstrateisfittoreceivetheasphaltandfortheapplicationofbondcoats.WhilethisstandarddoesnotcontainexplicitrequirementsforasphaltmaterialscoveredinotherpartsofBSEN13108orotherproprietaryasphaltmixtures,thegeneralrequirementsofthisstandardmaybeappliedtothosemixtures,inadditiontospecialrequirementsforparticularmixturesspecifiedinindividualqualityplansand/ormethodstatements.NOTE1Theterm“asphalt”usedinthisstandardisthegenerictermusedtodescribethewiderangeofmixturesofaggregateandbituminousbinderindividuallyknownasasphaltconcrete(AC),hotrolledasphalt(HRA),stonemasticasphalt(SMA),porousasphalt(PA)ormasticasphaltandotherproprietarymaterialswhichareavailableforuseinconstructingandmaintainingroadsandotherpavedareasthatareonthemarketintheUK.NOTE2MethodsforensuringthatthecorrectsurfacedrainagecharacteristicsareimpartedtopavementswithporousasphaltsurfacecourseareoutsidethescopeofthisBritishStandard.AnnexAgivesrecommendationsfordeliveryandrollingtemperatures,whileAnnexBprovidesapproximateratesofspreadofasphalt.ProtocolsfortheinitialtypetestingofasphaltmaterialsinaccordancewithBSEN13108?20areincludedinAnnexC,AnnexD,AnnexE,AnnexF,AnnexGandAnnexH.AnnexIprovidesaprotocolforcalibratingandoperatingindirectdensitygauges.AnnexJgivesguidanceonwhenandhowtoapplytackcoats.AnnexKgivesamethodfordeterminingthemaximumbindercontentthatporousasphaltandotherasphaltcancarrywithoutexcessivebinderdrainageduringtransportationandsubsequentlaying.NOTE3BSEN13108?20specifiestestsfordeterminingtheconformityofamixtoanyoftheotherpartsofBSEN13108.Thisissimilartoamixdesignvalidationorjobmixtrial.BSEN13108?20offerssomechoiceinthewayinwhichspecimensaretobepreparedforthepurposesofinitialtypetesting.Sincetheresultsdeterminedwilldependonthemethodofspecimenpreparation,asetofprotocolsshowingtherecommendedUKselectionofsuchprocedures,linkedtotherecommendedspecificationlevelsandclasses,isincludedinthisstandard.InthecaseofHRA,requirementsarespecifiedforprovidingarough?texturedsurfaceonthesurfacecoursetoprovideskid?resistance.Thisstandarddoesnotspecifyrequirementsforasphaltincorporatingbitumenemulsionbinders.Thisstandarddoesnotcoverthesupply,layingandcompactionoflow-temperaturewarmmixandotherreducedtemperatureasphalts.NOTE4BSEN13108iscurrentlybeingreviewedanditisanticipatedthatanyrevisionswillcoverlow?temperatureandcoldmixtures.
